Who are you?

Pow!
Ouch!
Why did you hit me?

Well, life has hit me between the eyes. With a question; who are you?

Then comes this quote:

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

George Bernard Shaw

I love it. I need want have to create! I have to write tweets, update my status, talk to the older people at church, the little ones who cross my path. I need to share my thougthts with my colleagues, show what the technology in a teacher's room can do for them. I have to share the article that makes sense after years of teaching, scoop the post that gives the very steps I need to write up for a current project.

I have to create.  What that is is dependent on my current mission.

My mission has changed. Slightly. What is it?

You'll be the second one to know.

Until then, keep creating and learning from your creations.

BTW, what have you created lately?

Taking More Risks in 2013

What does 2013 hold for you? Maybe you know or maybe you don't know. I do know somethings that is holds for me, but others are way up in the air.
I can only deal with those things I can control like work, my side of personal relationships, where I spent my extra time, etc.
Now, I could make a huge list of things that I want to do but why write them all here and then forget them by January 6th? That doesn't work for me. In order to focus on them, they have to be front and center, slapping me in the face every day.
I have a few things that I have to do for my teaching certificate, but that will take a few months to do. Hence I will have to ramp up slower than I want but I will still set some goals for myself to accomplish so I can feel better about what I do to better my fellow teachers, students, friends, and family. (not necessarily in that order)

I so want to list the projects in my head out for you but I will not do it here but here.

What are you planning to do with the next 364 days of you life? I challenge you to live it as though they are the last ones you have.

Take the risk. What do you have to lose?

Oh, My Word! 2 iOS app

Oh My Word! 2  (OMW!2) is a great literacy iOS app.
"Close in on a hidden five-letter word by finding out if the word you guess is before or after it in the dictionary."
Try to guess the five letter dictionary word that is between a pair of guide words. The guide words change as you get closer to the word. You have 50 guesses to get as many as possible.

What makes OMW!2 so great?

  • It builds dictionary skills
  • You have to see in your mind (or on paper) words in alphabetical order
  • Increases higher thinking because only 5 letter words are used
  • It builds vocabulary (quickly)
  • It is challenging for all ages. @len_horn and I had a hard time with some of the words, but we managed to guess them.
  • Great for group play or individual play.
  • Great car/traveling game.
    • Suggested structure: One person operates the device while others guess the word. The person who gives the correct guess gets the device to facilitate the next game. If the driver guesses, then s/he gets to choose who facilitates the next game.

On iOS, it is free right now (5-23), regular price is $2.99.
In Google Play it is $3.19.
