What next?

I saw this video shared by my generous friend, Michelle and I thought, Wow! That is what I’m saying! Stop trying to be who everyone else wants you to be. Be you. Because you are special as you are.

Soon after watching the above video I read my BBF Mandy’s post, “Growing a PLN is More Than a Numbers Game”. She made a point about giving as much as you get… “You must give as much support as you seek.” I have found that in order to maintain my personal balance, I do not expect others to give as much as support to me as I have given them. My personal sphere is larger than they are and can fill my bucket faster than they could empty it. The true balance comes when I have too many bucket emptiers and I need to stop the outflow. Age and wisdom of when and how to say, No More, is here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still working on it. But I am now even more picky about who I draw support from.

Here is where I used to believe, I needed to put a disclaimer.
“Don’t worry! I’ll still be someone you can talk to and ask me anything and at anytime.”

Yes, you can still ask me, however I have additional layers that help me to be a better person to all I work with. Does Call Waiting help the person who called you first or the person who called you second? I have removed many features of my Call Waiting and will help as I can.

That’s another reason why I love my closest friends. There is no expectation to respond to everything we share with one another. Life outside our group moves on and no one will judge if you don’t participate as much as others. If you don’t contact us, we are not critical. Inevitably, one or more of us will reach out individually and say, “How are you doing? What can I do to support you?”

One huge negative of having my particular circle of close friends is that they are so far away.
