Answer: Those things that get under your skin and cause irritation and discomfort.
Have you have them before?
I had one Monday. It took .5 seconds for it to happen. 8 hours to remove.
I got several suggestions of how to get relief.
-Soak my hand in salt water to soften the skin
-Let it gradually come out
-Get a straight pin and dig it out.
So, I tried them all and it got it out after I finally found my sewing kit.
It hurt. A lot! Did I stop before it was out? I thought about it, but I knew it was coming out. Slowly.
The same thing should happen in life. We get irritated with a small matter, but it soon consumes our attention and energies. The objects/actions/words hurt and we can’t ignore it because it triggered a pain point for us. Many of us try to bury the hurt by occupying our mind and body with things that numb us to the pain. Others try to drown it in fluids, loud music, or simply ignore it. But it goes deeper and causes more pain.
I’m no expert, but I do know what I’m talking about when I say
Face
Everything
And
Rise
Why? The pain won’t truly stop until the cause has been discovered, rooted up, and discarded. Yes, this does take time and energy. But hurt people continue the cycle of hurting other people. Most of us do it unintentionally. Yet, that is why we must take stock of ourselves, find our splinters, and get rid of them. It can be done. Trust me.
One down and many more to go.
