Funky Pictures

Just in case you haven't seen my tweets on this awesome website here they are again.
And this one:
okay, so I can't find the other tweet but I did tweet it!
I love this online photo-editor. I am using it to edit students pictures for their "newspapers" that will be displayed outside our classroom. I showed them a little of what it can do and they went wild! They were "oooing" and "ahhing" over the effects and what the pictures looked like.
I'm almost done importing and editing their pictures. I'm going to paste the final products as a layout and then cut out the pictures to put in the newspaper. Yes, the "newspaper is a hard copy! We haven't been to the computer lab yet, but when we get there oh what fun it will be. for them

If you haven't checked out www.befunky.com yet, I suggest you do so. But I warn you that it can be addictive to see all the ways your photos can be changed.

Greasemonkey Rules, so far

Have you ever used Greasemonkey before?
I haven't. Now, I'm sure that those of you who have are probably wondering about me and why I haven't before now. Well, actually I have TRIED it before. I wasn't in the frame of mind to keep at it.
Today, is the exception. Earlier in the week, I read an article that talked about using Greasemonkey and I wondered if I could get back into it. I had a reason today. I have a friend flying in from Atlanta. I use a flight tracker that is static and I didn't want to keep pressing F5 to refresh it. I thought there must be a script that does this for me.
Sure enough. There is! YES!
Enter Auto-Reload for Greasemonkey. It refreshes the webpage at your convenience. I had to figure out that I had to use the Greasemonkey menu to edit the settings, then I was on my way.

Granted, I must give @cogdog his props. 24 hours before this post, he posted this on his blog. Google likes to direct traffic to itself there getting more... whatever it gets from the increased traffic. I used the Greasemonkey script, Obviously Scrub Google Redirect Links, that @cogdog suggested and it works wonders.
If I ever have a webpage issue that could possibly be resolved, I will search for a Greasemonkey script.
Ifyou have a favorite Greasemonkey script, tell me about it in the comments.

Now, if I could just find a decent repository of these...

A Switch is made

I have done it! I have dumped Feedjit and went to ClustrMaps.
"Why?" you might ask.
Well, I don't see Feedjit on any other blogs, especially those I read often. I can't seem to find it anywhere but mine. Hence, the change. I hope that I made a good decision in this switch.
If not, tell me why.
If so, tell me why.
Post your answer in the comment section.

Still going on my To-Do list. Correction: not going so well, but going.
Oh well, it is summer. Almost done with PC Magazine's Linux Solutions book.
Very interesting read for the summer.

EDIT:Since this posting I have been looking at ClustrMaps and I missed the exact location of each visitor and the globalness of the experience. SO, I have re-entered the Feedjit traffic feed.

Google Sketch Up

I working with Google Sketch Up (GSU) to figure out how I could use it in my Math classes. I will have 4th graders (9-10yr olds) and I have never taught this level before. I'm not scared just wondering how I will do it.
Back to GSU. I have read Rod Lucier's blog, The Clever Sheep, post talking about GSU and it got me wondering more about how it would work with younger children. I understand there are steps to take, but which ones and how long do I let them stay there before going on to the next one. (As I wrote that I answered some of the unwritten questions in my head! Guess I have to write it out to think it through). I guess I've have to mucjmy way through it before I plan for it.
Besides The Clever Sheep post and it's links, do you have any ideas, suggestions, strategies, any thing that could help me? If so, please post it in the comment section.
